The Family Activated Safety Team (FAST) is Rapid Response Team activated by patients and families. FAST provides extra help when a patient has concerns about his or her own care, or when a family member has concerns about the patient's care.

Patients or family members dial a designated phone number for help and the operator immediately activates a team that will arrive in minutes to address needs or concerns.

The FAST tools include the following:

1. FAST Brochure: Given to patients and families at the time of admission to the hospital
2. FAST Process Overview: Describes the FAST protocol
3. FAST Algorithm: Depicts the process flow
