National Quality Center Needs Assessment Executive Summary

Results of a needs assessment conducted with key stakeholders of the National Quality Center (NQC)

 

This is the Executive Summary of the National Quality Center Needs Assessment conducted in 2005 to help inform the development and implementation of quality improvement TA services for Ryan White CARE Act (RWCA) grantees.  The assessment was conducted in 2005 with 390 key stakeholders including HRSA/HAB staff, HRSA-funded RWCA grantees from across the nation and across the continuum of Titles, consumers of RWCA services and representatives of the Regional AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETCs). Developed by the National Quality Center, New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute; and the Academy for Educational Development Center on AIDS and Community Health (New York, New York, USA).

 

The National Quality Center was funded by the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau in October 2004 to serve as the primary technical assistance resource for Ryan White CARE Act (RWCA) grantees of all Titles to build the capacity of grantees to implement QM legislative mandates and to support grantees in improving the quality of the HIV/AIDS care and services they provide.

 

To help inform the development and implementation of the National Quality Center, a needs assessment was conducted by the Academy for Educational Development (AED) with key stakeholders including HRSA/HAB staff, HRSA-funded RWCA grantees from across the nation and across the continuum of all Titles, consumers of RWCA services and representatives of the Regional AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETCs).  Approximately 390 individuals participated in this assessment and both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to gather primary and secondary data. The overall findings of the assessment based on these data are summarized in this Executive Summary including:
