Payment, Cancellation, Substitution, and Refund Policies

IHI Educational Programs, Initiatives, Subscriptions, and Memberships

Thank you for your interest in IHI. Below please find important information about our payment, cancellation, substitution, and refund policies that affect your registration in IHI educational programs or initiatives, or your purchase of a subscription or membership.

Educational Programs and Initiatives

Registration Fee of $2,950 or more

  • Payments: Full payment is due 60 days before the start of the program. If payment in full is not received within 60 days prior to the program start date, IHI will notify you and cancel your registration.
    • Credit card payments: Enter your credit card information online during the registration process, or call the IHI Customer Experience Department to process payment over the phone.
    • Check payments: Please mail a copy of the invoice with your check made payable to IHI.
  • Cancellations: For cancellations made within 45 days before the start of a program: Registration fees are fully refundable if a written request is received by info@ihi.org on or before 45 days before the start of the program.
  • Refunds: IHI will issue all refunds in the original payment type (credit card or check) within 30 days. Registrations received after 45 days or less before the start of the program are not refundable.
  • Substitutions: One attendee may be substituted for another at any time by calling the IHI Customer Experience Department or emailing info@ihi.org.

Registration Fee of $1,001 to $2,949

  • Payments: Full payment is due before the start of the program. If payment in full is not received within one day prior to the program start date, IHI will notify you and cancel your registration.
    • Credit card payments: Enter your credit card information online during the registration process, or contact the IHI Customer Experience Department to process payment over the phone.
    • Check payments: Please mail a copy of the invoice with your check made payable to IHI.
  • Cancellations: For cancellations made within one day before the start of the program: Registration fees are fully refundable if a written request is received by info@ihi.org on or before one day before the start of the program.
  • Refunds: IHI will issue all refunds in the original payment type (credit card or check) within 30 days. Registrations received one day before the start of the program are not refundable.
  • Substitutions: One attendee may be substituted f​or another at any time by calling the IHI Customer Experience Department or emailing info@ihi.org.

  • Payments: Full payment is due at the time of registration.
    • Credit card payments: Enter your credit card information online during the registration process, or call the IHI Customer Experience Department to process payment over the phone.
    • Check payments: If you need to make a payment by check, please call the IHI Customer Experience Department.
  • Cancellations: For cancellations made within one day before the start of the program: Registration fees are fully refundable if a written request is received by info@ihi.org on or before one day before the start of the program.
  • Refunds: IHI will issue all refunds in the original payment type (credit card or check) within 30 days. Registrations received one day before the start of the program are not refundable.

IHI Open School Subscription Cancellations and Refunds

Individual Subscriptions 

You may notify IHI of your intent to cancel at any time within 30 days of purchase of an individual subscription; your cancellation will become effective immediately. For a full a refund, intent to cancel must be received by email to memberinfo@ihi.org within 5 business days of purchase. If any courses have a recorded progress or completion at the time of acknowledgment and verification of cancellation, you will not receive a refund.

Organizations with Group Subscriptions 

You may notify IHI of your intent to cancel at any time within 30 days of purchase of an organization’s group subscription; your cancellation will become effective immediately for all users. Intent to cancel must be received by email to memberinfo@ihi.org. If any learners have used the IHI Open School courses and/or have progressed or completed any courses at the time of acknowledgment and verification of cancellation, you will not receive a full refund. If an amount is still outstanding on the organization’s account a commensurate bill will be extended for the use.

Memberships and Subscriptions

  • Payments:
    • For membership or subscription fees of $1,000 or less, full payment is due at the time of registration.
    • Group membership and subscription fees of more than $1,000 are due upon invoice receipt.
    • Check payments: If you need to make a payment by check, please call the IHI Customer Experience Department or mail a copy of the invoice with your check made payable to IHI.
  • Refunds: All IHI membership and subscription fees are non-refundable.
  • Substitutions: No substitutions for membership and subscription registrations.

Our Guarantee to You

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied that your attendance in an IHI educational program is a valuable experience, IHI will gladly refund your registration fee per the policies noted above. Please note that due to unforeseeable circumstances, last-minute changes in program titles, speakers, or presentations may be unavoidable.
